Forestal Park Tenerife
Back to all placesNestled amidst the verdant hills of the Anaga Rural Park, Forestal Park Tenerife stands as one of the largest treetop adventure parks in Spain, offering an immersive experience in the island’s natural and cultural heritage. Opened in 2012, the park is set within a centuries-old Canarian pine forest, its woodland steeped in history and once vital for the island’s timber and resin industries dating back to the 16th century. Located along the historic TF-24 route—formerly a cattle and trade path linking the old settlements of La Laguna and El Teide—the site is surrounded by relics of early agricultural terraces and the remains of charcoal kilns, echoing centuries of rural life. Today, Forestal Park Tenerife invites visitors to soar through the canopy on over 90 aerial challenges, zip lines, and rope bridges, some of the longest in the Canary Islands, all constructed with close attention to preserving the ecosystem. The park’s location within Las Lagunetas connects it not only to the natural reserves declared in the 1987 Canary Islands Law on Protected Natural Spaces, but also to the wider narrative of humanity’s relationship with these mountains—from indigenous Guanche use of woodland resources to the reforestation projects initiated after the wildfires of the late 20th century. Open all year round, the park stands as a testament to Tenerife’s enduring bond with its forests, offering both thrilling adventure and a living lesson in environmental stewardship and Island history.
