Faro Punta de Rasca

The Punta de la Rasca lighthouse viewing point is located in the southernmost part of the island, near Las Galletas and Costa del Silencio. This viewpoint offers panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and is known to be one of the best places to watch whales and dolphins in their natural habitat. Next to the viewpoint, is the Punta de la Rasca lighthouse, which is still active to guide boats in the area. It is a picturesque and photogenic place to visit and adds even more charm to the place. In addition, it is a starting point for various hiking trails that allow you to explore the natural beauty of the south coast of Tenerife. The lighthouse was built in 1893. In the 20th century, this area of Tenerife was practically inaccessible by land, so the lighthouse keeper and his family lived in isolation. At the small pier, a ship regularly docked with supplies for them, such as food, water, or medicine.
