Casa Palacio de los Condes de La Gomera

Casa Palacio de los Condes de La Gomera is one of the most outstanding architectural constructions of Garachico, which is also known as the Casa de Piedra, A Stone House. A historic civil building, reminiscent of a palace, which began to be built at the end of the 17th century, being inaugurated at the beginning of the following century, although it had to be rebuilt years later due to a strong volcanic eruption that destroyed a large part of Garachico. At an architectural level, we find a cube-shaped structure, and a facade that combines the dark of the stone that covers its doors and windows with a soft red color, all facing the most popular square in the Villa, the square of freedom.

It was erected by aristocratic families from Castilla, and passed into the hands of the family of the Counts of La Gomera thanks to an arranged marriage between the nobility. Today it belongs to the administration, and serves as an art space that hosts different artistic and cultural exhibitions.
